SIREJ raised funds last summer to help alleviate some of the negative health and economic impacts of COVID-19. Funds were divided equitably across four indigenous peoples of Bolivia (Ayoreo, Guaraní, Guarayo and Monkox/Chiquitano). A number of communities benefited from the funds including Urubichá, Yaguaru, and Lomerio which is composed of 27 communities represented by CICOL (Central Indígena de Comunidades Originarias de Lomerío) a local indigenous organization. SIREJ and CIPCA, a local Bolivian NGO, worked together to deliver the donations to the Momené community. With the funds, the community chose to purchase uniform tops with their company logo on them.

SIREJ team is happy to see the funds raised from the COVID-19 Fundraiser go to help out the Yaguarú community in Bolivia and the Yaguarú School of Music. Below is a video with students from the music school and their instructor, Luis Abel Arienda Bazán.
