Elected positions include: President, Co-President, Archivist, Treasurer. Committee Leadership positions are generally not elected unless two or more members are wanting to fill the same role. All SIREJ Leadership Roles require members to be registered as a SIREJ member. Becoming a member is open to all with an interest in indigenous rights and environmental justice and not just students.
President & Co-President
Leads the organization and share the following duties:
Leads efforts for organizing and further developing SIREJ programing
Organize General Meetings
Produce SIREJ Bi-weekly eMails/newsletters
Assist in coordinating Committees
Manage volunteers (i.e. registration, introduction to indigenous partners)
Fills in organizational roles as needed
Completes annual "SIREJ Impact Report"
Ensure updates received from all active committees.
Manages SIREJ documents/data/materials/notes
Manages Club Binder (pending)
Manages member access to SIREJ accounts (i.e. Facebook, Weebly, YouTube, Instagram, Google Drive, etc.
Manages SIREJ Google email and fields questions
Takes meeting notes at General Meetings
Responsible for finding/locating needed photos/videos/documents/etc. for group purposes
Takes on role of Treasurer if unfilled.
Manages SIREJ funds
Prepares funding reports
Reviews and processes funding requests from SIREJ community partners and members.
Creates budget for SIREJ Annual Programming
Facilitate committee meetings
Attend Committee Leader Meetings
Project Manager for committee specific projects
Complete “Committee Impact Report”
Complete “Committee Updates" bi-weekly and provide updates at General Meetings
Assist Committee Leaders in leading volunteers and managing committee projects
