It is very exciting to be working with Monika and Mateo - both recent graduates from Leban dance centre in London - and we are delaying the third Bolivia drawing session for Mateo's dance commitments. We continue to support SIREJ Bolivia, a charity for indigeneous people that resonates with BLM. Hope to see you tomorrow! Mary
Larkhall Art Club (England), in collaboration with artists and activists from Bolivia, Poland and USA, is organising a drawing session via zoom open to everyone. This Wednesday 7th October 2020 6.30 - 8.15 UK time, our model will be Monika Blaszczak, a queer dance artist from Poland.
While the polish nonheteronormative communities are facing a violent and discriminative politics from the ruling government and a growing hostility from their fellow citizens, some queers decide to continue expressing themselves and taking up space bravely and unapologetically despite the risks. It is of great importance to support these circles from abroad and show solidarity with the queer artists, educators, activists and all.
The drawing session is a fundraiser for the SIREJ's capmaign COVID Support for Indigenous Peoples of Bolivia. By participating in the art club and donating, you support the vulnerable groups who face a crisis due to the coronavirus outbreak.
In the next few weeks, Larkhall Art Club will announce another drawing session during which we will draw models from Bolivia, the heart of South America.
We believe in the great power of this transcontinental collaboration and we wish to expand our awareness and support one another through these highly challenging times. We really hope you can join us!
